My first blog post
To dip my toe into my first blog post, I decided to share with you an extract of the poem which I wrote & read out to the Moray Business Women show case back in March 2020 (pre covid I may add!) at Baxters in Fochabers.
It will hopefully give you more of an insight behind why Anderson & Co was set up & why!
My name is Arlene Anderson & I confess a Chartered Accountant I am,
I live in Fochabers & secretly only came here for a pancake & jam.
I stood up and spoke at the show case show 5 years ago,
My new business Anderson & Co was beginning to grow.
I lived in Banff at that time & it was just me but with lots of grand plans in mind.
My business was to move to our new home, but I am ure you will know plan A know never works in Grand Designs.
So, I bought an old dump of a property in Banff, and turned it in to my office (it’s quite pretty),
If you had seen the property schedule you would be questioning my sanity.
My pitch last time was about my love for my new cordness Dyson hoover,
It was my analogy to prove change isn’t all that bad
But is showed that Dyson so much love that I have burnt out its motor.
My business strap line was “Accounting with Personality”
I was fed up with people responding to my occupation with a heat tilt & some pity.
But to be honest I love my job, the people I meet & the problems I hopefully decifier,
People assume I am a maths genius when I am really just a really good blether.
Anderson & Co now has 3 employees & our clientele covers Aberdeenshire & Moray,
And if you have met any of the staff you will know they are knowledgeable & lovely.
We solve all our problems with numbers & want clients to be really up to date, Encouraging clients to use cloud software & Xero is the one that we rate.
Our clients never have to wait to see what the profits are many months after time,
They know everyday whether they are keeping the business in line.
The poem ended by give thanks for the support from the ladies of Moray Business Women Association, But the support from the local business community has been overwhelming & never taken for granted.
